National Preparedness Month is recognized every September to remind us of the importance of preparing ourselves, families and the community for the unthinkable—a disaster.  While we cannot always prevent disasters, we can do our best to prepare for them.  This year’s theme is “Disasters Happen. Prepare Now. Learn How.”

The El Paso City/County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is promoting preparedness throughout September with weekly social media messages, community presentations, and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training with our partners and stakeholders.

OEM will be showcasing the Joint Mobile Command Vehicle and the Drone Program, handing out preparedness flyers, and informing the public at El Paso City Hall on September 4, 2018, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  We encourage everyone to come and see what services OEM provides to the community.
